About me
My academic background brings together sociology, psychology and philosophy. I hold a degree in Sociology from Panteion University, a degree in Psychology from the University of Strasbourg, followed by a postgraduate qualification in Systematic Philosophy from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
My training in psychotherapy includes a five-year programme in Body Psychotherapy, specialising in the Biosynthesis® approach. I have also studied theatre at the Athens Higher School of Contemporary Theatre.Over the course of my career, I have worked in a range of professional and educational settings, including the General Secretariat for Civil Protection and College Year in Athens – International Center for Hellenic and Mediterranean Studies, where I held research associate positions.I now practise as a psychologist and psychotherapist, offering individual sessions in central Athens and online.
My approach
My approach to psychotherapy begins with an understanding that each person has their own history, experiences and needs. I believe in meeting people where they are, recognising that our lives are shaped not only by our individual experiences, but also by the relationships we form and the family, social and cultural environments in which we live.As life changes, so do the ways in which we navigate it. Adaptation is an important concept in how I understand human experience, but I do not see it simply as a matter of adjusting ourselves to fit our circumstances. At times, meaningful change begins with recognising that it is our circumstances, rather than ourselves, that need to change. This understanding informs my therapeutic practice. At its heart is the relationship between therapist and client, grounded in trust, mutual respect and an appreciation of each person’s unique experience.
